Easy - IROC. But I’m gonna bitch and moan about the slush box.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 12:51 |

It’s cruiser, not a street fighter. I think the 302 had less than 200 HP from the factory.

Lexus, that way everyone will know I made it.
My 10 year high school reunion is this year, I am absolutely not going.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 12:53 |

I don’t think my class has ever even tried for a reunion, and I’m okay with that.

IT’S A RACE CAR. SAYS SO RIGHT IN THE NAME
![]() 06/06/2018 at 12:57 |

Jeez, just read the ad for the SC430. 11k is a lot for a salvage title.

The Lexus says you made it, and retired to the Villages in Florida.
The IROC says you miss the glory days.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:01 |

IROC, because that’s what I had in high school and I want people to know that I rock just as hard now, if not just a little harder, as I did back then.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:02 |
|
Yeah but the accident was minor and they only replaced the bumper cover.
Riiiiiight...
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:03 |
|
Same. I feel pretty good that I was the first person to decline the invite on FB hahaha
More than 50% of the people responded that they needed to find a sitter for their multiple kids. Most of my graduating class never left the POS town where we lived.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:04 |

If you take a look at the engine bay pic, the driver fender is missing it’s VIN tag.

Step 1: SC430
Step 2: Air ride
Step 3: Leon Hardiritt Ordens with metallic dark silver faces and polished barrels in 20x9 +25 up front and 20x10.5 +19 out back
Step 4: XForce Varex mufflers
Step 5: Yeet on the people I graduated with

I never liked those Camaros but they are growing on me lately. That being said, I wouldn’t take the IROC. It screams “I peaked in HS and miss the good ole days” a little too hard LOL
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:07 |
|
I didn’t go to mine because I just couldn’t care enough. Went to my wife’s though and it was really sad, it was either people desperately trying to relive their glory days because they peaked in high school and people who just wanted to watch that shit show.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:08 |
|
Between the two I’d go with the IROC
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:09 |

eh... if my class ever has a reunion im turning up in a bulldozer and running the lot of them and the building they’re in over
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:11 |
|
You couldn’t pay me to go to a HS reunion.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:19 |

That camaro says to me: I’m still cruising by the high school when classes get out just to check on the girls, and I graduated in ‘89.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:28 |

Oh my god the IROC! I would also need to purchase mullet wig.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:28 |

You know what they say, you keep getting older, and they stay the same age.
How is your mullet and/or creeper stache?
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:28 |

Maybe controversial but I like the SC430. Especially in some colors and later years it looked pretty good I think - and is probably a trouble free vert that will age pretty well in a weird way.
Speaking of the 430, I’ve gone the rabbit hole of craving a LS430 from that era...especially in “ultra” trim with adaptive suspension, radar cruise, and adjustable rear seats....such a tempting old man car to buy and drive for the rest of my life. So stately looking too. OK done hijacking thread.

Only real mullets can drive this slice of heaven. I’m pretty sure there is some guns and roses stuck in the tape deck too.

coming along

Option 3
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:32 |

IROC all day.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:33 |

I know the lexus is the much better car by a thousand miles but it does not have the emotional response of an 80's camaro that probably has an over riding smell of pine tree air fresheners.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:36 |
|
If go for the sc430, but not that one because the seller sounds annoying.
1.) They are not rare.
2.) They were built for 9 years in a row, 01-10.
3.) Salvage title, which is okay but at that price it is not.

The gussied up honda civic is not an option in this very official poll. An acceptable substitute would be an early 90's mustang, chrysler crossfire, pop-up headlight acura integra, or CRX-SI.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:37 |

IROC all night and party every day.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:37 |

I talk to two people from high school. We have each other’s numbers, why would I want to see anyone else. Oh look, I drive an M3, I wasn’t lying back then about getting one.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:37 |

I’ll take the bitchin’ Camaro every time. Hopefully it still has a cassette deck so I can jam out to my Motley Crue tapes!
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:40 |

There was a gold one at a local dealer last summer for $12k in perfect condition, I would have bought that car. This one is a bit iffy IMO.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:40 |

I bought an LS430 Custom Luxury last week...it’s a good car but hasn’t been without issues since I’ve had it.

In the space of a week?! Electronics or actual drivetrain issues too? Getting the most basic one possible is probably the safer route just so there are fewer electornics to break, but its so cool all the stuff they loaded those things up with 15 years ago!

SC430
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:52 |

1. It’s actually my car and cost about that money when I bought it
2. It’s an Accord
![]() 06/06/2018 at 13:59 |

I have a few friends I’ve kept in touch with. One is actually now my roommate after I convinced him to move to LA. He keeps in touch with a lot more people than I do, but it’s still a small number. I would say I have three friends, and the rest are friends of those friends that are sometimes around. Not surprisingly, the few friends I still have, also moved away haha
![]() 06/06/2018 at 14:04 |

It’s a nice car, not bagging on it at all. I just think a high school reunion car should say either bad decisions were made or I haven’t moved on from high school ten to twenty years later.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 14:07 |
|
If those were my choices, I don’t think I’d go.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 14:14 |

The IROC, and it’s not even close. The 3rd gen and Fox Mustang was extremely popular with the high school gearhead crowd when I was in high school in the early 90's.

Lexus. Because of dem wheels
![]() 06/06/2018 at 14:33 |

Fuck the Lexus, get the IROC. That gets my muscle car boner going all day.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 14:45 |

Sorry, I’ve been on edge a bit lately. Personal problems amplified by lack of sleep. I meant to say something to the effect of “how dare you insult the TSX that way! It’s an Accord, not a Civic!”
![]() 06/06/2018 at 14:47 |
|
Find a $5500 version of both. I don’t hate either.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 15:07 |

Can I take the money and skip the reunion?
![]() 06/06/2018 at 15:13 |
|
I’m thinking that is the consensus at this point.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 15:24 |
|
Ironically, you’ve met one of the high school friends I keep in touch with.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 15:35 |

If I HAVE to choose one of those two, easily the Lex.
If not, I’ll just buy a dope motorcycle. :3
![]() 06/06/2018 at 15:45 |
|
Hahaha, you’ll have to visit some time.
He mentioned his friend talked him into the R over a standard GTi and I thought to myself, this sounds like something E90M3 would say. Then he confirmed lol
![]() 06/06/2018 at 15:52 |
|
Yeah, I need to plan a trip out there.
That is exactly something I would say.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 18:18 |

A bit of both actually, though I believe they stem from the same issue. I bought the car from a Lexus dealer thinking that they’d be more honest than some used car lot, but as it turns out they either deliberately withheld evidence that the car had been rear ended, or through some massive quality control oversight didn’t notice. Either way, the paint work on the trunk and quarter panel is atrocious, there’s an alarming creak from the rear suspension, and the navigation system has issues that point to an impact during the cars life.Regardless, I’m currently in talks with my Lawyer and Lexus Corprate to get the dealer to buy it back.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 18:27 |

Iroc hands down, I want a 3rd gen camaro pretty badly. I’ve always been an important guy but those are badass.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 18:32 |

Yikes, that sounds like some shady stuff. Sorry to hear you’re having such a crazy experience with something you probably went in to expecting to be a drama free ownership experience! Please consider sharing your experience on Oppo – there are some good minds on here that might be able to give you some helpful input, and sounds like quite the story many of us can learn from as well.
![]() 06/06/2018 at 18:47 |

I will when everything is said and done, but I’d like to keep a low profile until everything is resolved. On a brighter note, insurance gave my dealer the go ahead to fix my S600, so now they’re just waiting on parts and I should have it back next week.
![]() 06/09/2018 at 20:57 |

I would totally show up in the IROC Z blasting Travis Tritt with a case of Budweiser.

Crx-si please. Or... Crossfire?
Oh man. That would be a tough call
